Day 109: Cirat (Drive)

After yesterday's birthday excitement, given my advancing age, I thought I'd better take it easy today!

The morning was spent with chores (so much for taking it easy).

The afternoon was spent planning my next steps, which I had to significantly modify because, following my big drive to find sunshine on Monday, the previous plans to get me to Girona were mostly made redundant!

Once a cunning plan was hatched, I buckled up and drove to the first stop: Cilat. When I arrived there were only a couple of "homes on wheels"; it is not so now!

Perhaps it is busier than usually because, tomorrow being Maundy Thursday, it is a holiday in Spain; as is Good Friday.

  • Distance driven: 52 miles (which included TWO detours due to wrong turns! One due to a satnav ambiguity: I had a fifty-fifty chance of choosing the correct fork in the road, but one-hundred percent made the wrong choice; and the second was down to me not trusting the satnav and, again, choosing the wrong option!). All in all, I think it add about 5 or 6 miles to the journey.
  • Distance cycled: 0
  • Weather: Sunshine, temperatures in the low twenties C and, a much appreciated cool breeze.
  • Location: Google Maps
