Day 28: Denia (Rest Day)

Plan A was to move on, which was still born! Didn't wake up until 9.30am! The result of not setting an alarm for the first time since arriving in Denia.

Accordingly, Plan B was enacted, which was to go with the flow! The first task was to source some quality bread. Unfortunately, my initial attempt was a failure. I thought I'd found a good bakery but, on returning to the van I discovered the bread was not to my liking. My own fault, I should have gone to the bakery I went to previously. So it goes! On the other hand I did stumble across a fine coffee shop and the second loaf was very good. Interestingly (to me anyway) is that the bakery makes extra long loaves of bread, I'm guessing about a metre or so in length, and the buyer gets to choose how long a loaf they wish to purchase.

By the time I returned to the van for a second time it was almost lunch time, rather than breakfast!
After breckie, some cycle route planning was done, including one for tomorrow! Yes, I've decided to stay in Denia because someone (Lynn!) highlighted that there was an alternative route up to the base of the Miserat, which starts at Pego rather than L'Atzubia. My interest was piqued and thus I wish to see how this alternative compares to the evilness that is the climb from L'Atzubia. At this stage I'm calling the route "The almost Miserat" because, I only intend to climb to the Mizerat plateau up to the turn off for the Mizerat summit. So I'll climb about 550m from Pego ... and miss out on the 110m climb that would take me to the summit ... or will I?

Find out in the next must read installment of this not to be missed adventure!
