Day 31: Moraira (Drive)

The forecast was for strong winds today ... they didn't arrive until darkness fell at about 6.30pm.

Anyway, after breakfast, I spent the morning doing vamwork. Early afternoon was spent emptying grey water, filling the fresh water tank and dumping black water. It was then off to the supermarket to replenish victuals. Finally, I arrived at my new location at about 5pm.

I had planned to park-up in Altea but, at the water stop I met a fellow traveller who told me about this good site in Moraira. So I thought I'd give it a try. It's okay, similar to Denia, there are many motorhomes and campervans and it feels like a safe place to park. The couple that recommended it spent an untroubled month here last year. I doubt I'll be staying that long. They were here when I arrived!

It is busy here:

And from the other end:

And kind of near the middle:

Looking forward to another cycle in the Costa Blanca hills tomorrow.

  • Distance driven: 32 miles (which includes some unnecessary mileage due to change in overnight park-up location)
  • Distance cycled: 0
  • Weather: Cloudless early morning, clouding over and, brightening up late afternoon. Following sunset the wind velocity picked up and is forecast to be high overnight. A little while later .... the wind was so bad that I became concerned that my aging bike cover was not going to survive the wind onslaught so I brought it into the van.
