Day 41: Kentwood
This morning I was feeling a bit beat up, but not as much as anticipated. So, a good start to the day!
At 7.30am I set of with Perry and Lep (our hosts where we camped last night), as They kindly offered to take me to Baton Rouge with a view to procuring a replacement bike, for an irreplaceable bike. Fortunatey Perry, a fellow cyclist, has known Dave, the mobile bike mechanic for twenty odd years and not only that but also he specialises in touring bikes.
Anyway, the upshot is that I have a new touring bike. It is not what I would have normally bought for myself but it is configure such that it should be fairly easy to sell on later. I had to keep reminding myself that I was effectively trying to second guess what someone else would want, rather than what I would like to ride. Anyway, Dave did a great job in helping me spec the bike and put it all together in short time. Thanks Dave. Not only that he is going to pack the Moulton up and get it shipped back to the Uk for me.
A picture of the new bike will appear shortly.
