Day 77: Pueblo Salinas (Cycling)

Perhaps some of the best cycling conditions this year. A very enjoyable ride, heading west along the coast ...

... through Garrucha and Mojácar ...

... and on to Carboneras.

From there it was a right turn to explore some of the hinterland of the Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata and the Sierra Cabrera.

On the way I passed from a paved road on to a section of unpaved road that took me through the smallest of pueblos, where vicious and non-viscious dogs were encountered (1 non-vicious; 1 chased after me until its owner called it off!; 1 was acting exceptionally vicious but, thankfully was chained up; and, finally, 1 off lead and vicious that initially stayed within the property boundary, barking and snarling but, as I was passing, it left the property still barking and headed towards me: obviously I accelerated as fast as I possibly could). Thankfully no harm was done to human nor animals during this encounter. The place is called Los Alamillos ... you've been warned!

Shaken, but not stirred, I made my way to the start of an easy ten kilometre climb that suddenly became rather steep for the final kilometre or so. Much enjoyment was had on the subsequent descent.

On my return to base camp I was confronted by this motorhome set up:

Yes, that Mercedes sports car did travel here in the trailer. As you can see, the trailer can even incline to easy entry and exit of the car! I do believe that their set up cost a little more than my campervan plus human powered vehicle combo! Not that I covert their setup - no thanks!
