Day 84: Salobreña (Cycle)
Recovery/rest day on the bike. Nothing too strenuous. Well, except for the visit to the castle at Salobreña, where the streets are narrow and the gradients are very steep. So, if you do not like this combination I suggest you refrain from cycling to the Castle.
But, I'm getting ahead of myself, first it was a leisurely cycle along the coast, with a fairly strong tailwind. My path passed through Playa de Motril:
... on to Playa El Canon ...
... a very minor detour on a very badly made road to Faro Sacratie:
... on to Playa de Carchura ...
... and, finally Playa de Calahonda (it once was okay to park here in the campervan: it is shame that this is no longer the case):
.... and a short climb to this vantage point to take a photograph of my bike Calahonda:
Where an about turn was executed and it was headwind all the way back to Salobreña and the castle, where we started!
It was a pleasant, relaxing and enjoyable recovery ride.
I did forget to wear my helmet and neglected to put lights on my bike, which I should have switched on as I entered (both ways) an unexpected tunnel. Fortunately, it was only 170 metres in length. No harm done!
Oh yes, it looks as though Barbie may have been in town!
