Day 9: Oliva Nova (Drive)
Things did not go as planned. The idea was to do some chores and move to a new location and cycle tomorrow. The first chore was to visit the nearby BP garage where, for the past two years, I've washed the salt and grime from a rather dirty van. Unfortunately, the jet-washer is currently non-functional.
No matter, completion of the second chore shouldn't be a problem. At least so I thought. Little did I know/recall the 6th January 2025 is epiphany: a Spanish public holiday! Therefore, supermarkets were closed for the day. Fortunately, I had sufficient food and water to see me through the day.
In the end the only completed chores were: disposing of grey and black waters; toping up of the fresh water; and a general van tidy up.
Oh yes, I awoke this morning to discover a mosquito resting on the adjacent window blind! Not a good start to the morning. Obviously, without hesitation, it was dispatched to mosquito heaven, leaving a trail of blood: clear evidence I'd been her breakfast! About two hours later the bite site (right temple) began to itch.
Tonight I reside adjacent to the Playa Oliva Nova and, as I write this, the wind speed is picking-up. Hopefully it is not going to become too windy!
