Day 4: el Saler (South of Valencia)
Given the temperature in Zaragoza (1°C and overcast), I decided to head further south
Little sleep was had last night, which tends to happen whilst parked up for the first night and exacerbated when catching a ferry at 07:00. A DFDS operative awoke us at about 04:50! Which I though was a tad too early!
Fortunately the sailing went without incident and the sea was calm.
Tonight's stopover is at the same location as the first night of last year's adventure. I am pleased to report that I arrived more than hour sooner and drove 106 fewer miles, a result. Indeed, if an issue with a sim card had not arisen on arrival in France I'd have arrived an additional half an hour sooner! For me, landing in Dieppe is preferable to arriving at Calais. Shame I didn't know about the Newhaven - Dieppe Ferry sooner! So it goes!
Fortunately, the sim card issue has satisfactorily been resolved.
Oh yes, for the first time I forgot to apply the night time headlight beam deflectors this morning. I only became aware of my latest "senior moment" when the night fell and I could see the headlight's beam shining brightly on oncoming traffic ... this was most definitely the case by the time I'd managed to find s parking place where I could safely rectify the matter.
