Day 10: Pinedo [nrr Valencia](Drive/Cycle)

Breakfast, followed by a short drive to the beach area of el Saler where today's flat cycle ride began.

Being just about flat throughout the route, it was effectively "big ring" cycling all the way round the course. The "small ring" was only used for one short climb, approximately 500 metres in length, to the Cullera Lighthouse.

Basically the route was a reboot of previous year's rides without the climb up to the metreological "golf ball" (just about visible to the left in the photo)!

On the way I passed through el Palmar:

An enjoyable ride taken at an easy pace, with some sunshine and little traffic, so I'm somewhat surprised to be feeling rather tired this evening whilst writing this post!

Returned to Pinedo for what I hope will be my last time this year. There is not much in the way of viable alternative overnight parking in this area anymore! If all goes well tomorrow, I'll be in Calpe late afternoon/early evening. Not that the Calpe (Ayuntamiento) regime is anymore hospitable/welcoming to the discerning motorhomer/campervaner! So it increasingly goes!!

Oh yes, and today the Spanish take a national holiday to mark Epiphany. I think I may have had an epiphany once, but for the life of me I can't recall what it was about!!

Today's route:

  • Distance driven: 10 miles
  • Distance cycled: 68 kilometres
  • Weather: Sunshine with some cloud and 8 to 10°C temperatures.
