Day 102: Puebla de Sanabria (Walk/Drive)
It's been an overcast on-off rainy kind of day.
After breakfast it was time for a walk into Salamanca.
Where I bought:
- Some bread;
- A slice of Hornazo: A substantial pastry stuffed with chorizo, marinated pork loin, ham, and egg. Since it is a Salamancan "delicacy", I thought I should try it. So I did!;
- Some coffee beans; and even though it was a bit cold and wet
- An ice cream, (Two scoops: French Vanilla and, Dubai Chocolate) which was very good, especially the French Vanilla.
I also paid a visit to Salamanca's Central Market.

And passed-by the Cathedral:

And, walking back to the van I met "Lazarillo de Tormes":

I then crossed the Rio Tormes using the Puerte Romano. Contrasting the ancient with a wee bit modernism!

I would return to Salamanca. Originally I had planned to spend the whole day. However, the weather is looking fairly good for the next couple of days, before some more rain arrives. So, I thought it best move on, and cycle somewhere interesting tomorrow: rather than waste the day driving here.
On my way to Puebla de Sanabria, I stopped of at Legumbres Montes to buy two kinds of Garbanzos and two kinds of Lentejas. Supposedly some of the best in the world! (At least, according to BBC Radio 4's Food Programme!)
Eventually I arrived in Puebla de Sanabria at about 6.15pm, feeling rather tired. Indeed, I awoke this morning feeling tired. So nothing changed, other than the location!
