Day 118: Vinebre (Drive/Cycle)
Following a delayed awakening, it was a delayed breakfast, followed by a drive to Vinebre
It was a fairly early start to the day, by my standards anyway!
By the time I reached Ermita de la Pietat, after a two hour drive, I was feeling tired and wondered whether I should have a rest day before tomorrow's big adventure. I decided I'd go for a ride but, take it easy! That was all well and good until I noticed the dark clouds starting to roll in, which induced me to pick up my speed!
Heading back to the van:
The ride itself, I found online and apparently is courtesy of Terres de l'Ebre Tourism Board. It's an odd kind of route, much I found uninteresting but, just as I was getting rather bored something interesting would appear. For example this bridge:
As well as a cycle path, it even has benches for those that wish to sunbathe!
And here's another bridge at the entrance to Amposta:
Also, cycling the Ebro Delta area is probably not best done on Easter Sunday, perhaps, on another day the traffic would be quieter!
