Day 13: Calp (Cycle)
Today, Michael and I repeated the first ride that we did last year. It was a very good day for cycling with temperatures reaching 18°C. However, we were exposed to some strong headwinds. Probably, we had equally strong tailwinds, but these were hardly noticed as we sped along!
Unfortunately, on the final climb of the day, I was afflicted by occasional episodes of cramp: first in the left leg, right thigh area; later in the right leg. Michael was gracious in reducing the pace to the top of port/puerto de Bérnia (elevation 630 metres). Indeed, even on the descent, whilst leaning heavily into a corner with my right leg stretched outwards for balance, the worst cramp of the day decided to kick-in to the upper thigh area! But, thankfully, that was the last of it for today!
In addition to the Bèrnia,

... we climbed the Coll de Rates, where a new sign has been erected and subsequently defaced:

... and up to Tàbena (no coll sign, but we did have a coffee stop with apple tart!)
Finally, here's a photogrph of Calp taken on the descent from port de Bèrnie:

Finally, finally, I am now officially off pain meds following my eve of Christmas Eve fall down the stairs. None taken yesterday nor today! This pleases me.
