Day 113: Leulinghen-Bernes (Drive)
Well it was a chilly night in Maire. In fact it was so unexpectedly cold
A flying start to the day; I was on the road for 6.50am. My earliest start to a ride since I arrived in the USA. This occured because there was much gnashing of teeth at the prospect of an 81 mile ride, of which approximately 70 miles were flat or downhill. As a consequence breakfast was brought forward one hour!
On the way we passed through Dayville where the old fogies appear to be welcoming:
BTW: Nearby there is a significant paleontological site, with research and visitors center! Which was well worth the minor detour to visit.
In addition, there is some fantastic geology to be seen.
And trees that bare multifarious types of footwear.
