Day 141: Santa Coloma de Farners (Cycle/Drive)

Boy oh boy oh boy, was it hot this afternoon. At about half way round today's route I stopped in Sant Celoni for some sustenance prior to commencing the longest climb of the day: 24 kilometres to the Coll Fermic (Altitude: 1145 metres). I set off just after 1pm with the sun beating down on my back. Shortly thereafter, I was dripping in sweat and overheating. Not wanting to melt or die of heat exhaustion, I slowed down! not that I was going all that fast in the first place. The reduced effort, reduced the sweating and I started to cool down. I think the gain in elevation and the light breeze helped.
Here's a photo taken near the pass:
Before hand, I'd cycled up to the Coll de Bordoriol (Altitude: 1321):
Followed by the Alto de Santa Fe (Altitude: 1303 metres). No Sign, so I took this photo from the pass:
Followed by the climb up to Turó de l'Home (Altitude: 1652):
Followed by nearly 26 kilometres of descent into Sant Celoni.
After reaching the Coll Fermic, two more lesser climbs followed a descent to Seva, which I passed through yesterday. Yes there was quite a lot of climbing today. And, there were also many cyclist out "enjoying" these climbs, obviously very popular with the locals.
I'd say that apart from the early kilometres of the climb from Sant Celoni, where the roads were fairly busy (relative to the other roads cycled today) (perhaps, if it had not been a sunny Sunday afternoon, the traffic may have been lighter), I'd say that the cycling was very good.
