Day 15: Calp (Cycling)
Today was definitely a rest day ride! Having said that, our average speed for today's 72 kilometre ride was only about 1 kilometre slower than the previous days, even though we achieved approximately 1,300 metres of ascent.
Interestingly, or perhaps not, many a French cyclist gave us a "bonjour" as they passed us by today. Michael suggested that it may have been due to me wearing a replica cycling jersey of a now defunct French cycling team! I think he may well be correct. I will definitely check to see whether this occurs when I next wear the jersey out here.
Our ride today was effectively the reverse of our ride of two days ago. The main climb of which is the Coll de Rates. The key numbers of which can be seen in this photo:

The photo itself represents a small area of the original summit climb, which is now completely covered by similar stickers.
Finally, here is a photo of the Calp rock by late afternoon sunlight:

- Distance driven: 0
- Distance cycled: 72 kilometres
- Weather: Blue skies and T's nudging 15°C, but felt warmer because of the reduced wind speed.
