Day 152: Pont de Molins (Drive)

It is way too hot! I picked up my reserved bread and bought salad stuff before driving to Pont de Molins hoping to find shade. I was disappointed to discover there was very little to be found. Also, there was little to no breeze. No surprise then when the van temperature peaked at 33.2°C. As I write this post, at 20:47, the T=31.0°C.

With the temperatures as they are, I have been very close to leaving and heading north into France. What has stopped me from leaving is wanting to complete one last ride that I've been looking forward to for some time. I could have done the ride today but, the bread shop didn't open until 10am, which would have meant that, after the drive to the ride's start, I'd be setting off on my ride just as the day was heading towards 30°C! Whereas, if I wait until tomorrow morning I could head off at 6am, just as the sun is rising, when the starting temperature is predicted to be 21°C! Just need to get up at stupid o'clock! Let's see!! It is likely, according to the weather forecast, that the temperature will have reached its maximum of about 30°C, without a "feels like" temperature of 32°C, before I (hopefully!) return to the van!

As for the bread, it was worth the wait.
