Day 2: Bénesse-Maremne (Drive)

Last night I had the best night's sleep since the eve of Christmas Eve when I fell down the stairs from the landing to the ground floor! And, I hadn't drunk a drop of alcohol beforehand! So no excuses! Fortunately, it would appear that I only suffered soft tissue injuries: doses of Ibruprofen and Paracetamol have helped to ease the resulting pain inflicted by the stair rungs, on my starboard side, as I bounced down the stairs!

Unfortunately, the pain during the day seemed a little more intense ... So it goes! Driving most of the day from about 10am to 7.40pm probably did help!

The driving/traffic wasn't too bad until I reached the outskirts of Bordeaux were many a delay was encountered, adding much time to the journey.

Destination Spain tomorrow!

  • Weather: 0.5°C outside when I awoke, 3.5°C in the van. Overcast to start, sunny afternoon and 9°C.
