Day 29: South of el Campello (Cyclo)

Mainly to stay at lower elevations because the forecast was for very strong wind speeds at higher altitudes, I opted for a fairly easy sightseeing ride today: Maximum elevation was approximately 360 metres.

Presa del Amadòrio:

Some houses in Aigües:

Faro Cabo de Las Huertas (sign):

The sign, because it was just about impossible to see the lighthouse from the locked gates!

A view of Alicante:

A view of the coastal development from la Platja de Sant Joan to el Campello and beyond:

Not the best of rides, but at least it got me out in the fresh air for a few hours on the bike!

I was tempted to go to Alicante or Benidorm to watch the football and to have a pint of Guinness or two. Instead, I listened to the radio commentary. Now I wish I'd gone to the pub!

  • Distance cycled: 65 kilometres
  • Weather: Gusts of wind from about 4.00am until dawn woke me intermittently. A little cloud in the morning, quite windy and T's nudging 19°C. As I write this, the wind is picking up again and gusts are rocking the van; even though I'm parked up in a fairly sheltered location.
