Day 31: Torre de la Horadada (Drive)
Another day, another adventure ... and oh what an adventure it would turn out to be!
Breakfast, followed by a re-stocking of fridge and "pantry", and the purchase of a small brush.
Then I set off for a leisurely drive down the coast, arriving here at about 2:00pm.

Lumch was then had, as was coffee and biscuits.
Shortly thereafter I set off for a walk. The reason everything looked familiar is because I'd stayed hereabouts during year one of whereisdave's Spanish adventures.
Everything was going "fine and dandy" until, as I walked towards my van, I couldn't find my van key in any of my pockets! "I'm sure I locked the van when I left it", I thought. As I closed in on the van, I reasoned that I must have left the van unlocked, otherwise where could I have lost the key?
So, I was somewhat surprised, and very disappointed, to discover the van locked!
What next?
Well, first I'll retrace my steps, secondly I'll make a visit to the Civil Guard Station when I pass by it for the second time; just in case someone has found the key and handed it in. Thirdly, there was no thirdly at this stage!
So, of I went for a second walk retracing my steps. The visit to the Civil Guard yielded nothing, but The guard did take my Spanish phone number; should someone hand in the key. He also provided me with the address for the Local Police Station, which I intended to visit once I'd completed my retrace walk.
When I eventually returned to the van I thought I'd check the van door again: obviously, it remained locked! Then I thought I should have a more thorough search, in the vicinity of the van, before heading off to the police station. Nothing!
Then, just as I was about to leave for the station, something caught my eye, and when I looked closer, this is what I saw:

Oh, the relief!!
One thing I didn't mention was this:
I have two phones, one is my UK phone, which has personal info and my contacts etc. The other, mostly has almost no personal infomation but, does have some useful apps and has my Spanish sim card in it.
Anyway, as I was about to leave, I made a conscious decision to not take my UK phone as "I shan't be needing it", at least, so I thought. Not until I'd lost the key did it dawn on me that I didn't have the relevant information with me to contact my insurance company (nor anyone else of importance to me) to get a new key! (Perhaps when I turned up at the Local Police station, they would help me find a local "car/van locksmith" to get me back into the van). Oh how pleased I am that it didn't come to that!
Finally, I can assure you dear reader, I do not do these stupid things on purpose just so that I have something to write about!!!
Here are a few photos of other things that caught my eye, before having to retrace my steps!
No Bikes No Dogs!

The wind is coming from the right towards the Cival Guard Station!

Torre Vigia de la Horadada (c. XVI), which the pueblo I'm staying in is named after.

Torre vigia means "watchtower" in English.
