Day 34: Loz Alcázares (Drive/Cycle)
This is the 800th post on this here whereisdave blog thing-a-me-bob!
Another fairly easy ride to visit Faro de Cabo de Palos. And what a fine specimen it is.
I think this lighthouse is probably the best I've seen in Spain. Most of those I've seen previously have been of the less tall, stumpy kind; definitely not the classic form of this one. Yes, I am very impressed with it. Well worth the effort exerted on today's ride.
The cycling up to this point was nothing special but, at least the roads were mostly quiet.
The roads from the lighthouse to Cartagena were also quiet until I joined the N-332. Where the traffic significantly increased. Not to worry I thought, the roads will be quiet the otherside of town: they weren't. So, in conclusion, I'd definitely try and find an alternative quieter return route to Los Alcázares, should one exist.
On the journey from the lighthouse to Cartagena I passed an old mining area where a pleasant climb was had and these photographs were taken on the descent to N-332.
