Big Stat that I forgot to mention yesterday:
My accumulated distance cycled since leaving the UK is now greater than the distance I've driven the van on arriving in Dieppe.
Today:
Total distance cycled so far this year is 1176 miles and I'm in credit by 83 miles versus campervan mileage.
Having already cycled to the Coll de la Garga (elevation 761) twice in the past three weeks or so I had no intention of cycling it again this year! However, on yesterday's ride I descended the lower section of CV 721, which had some hairpins I hadn't previously ridden. Accordingly, I was very much inclined to cycle the incline up through the Vall de la Laguar and return to the Coll de la Garga one last time. At least this time I'd be cycling from the opposite direction, which is probably the easier of the two ascents. The climbing stats are: 644 metres over 10.7 kilometres, which would seem to indicate a rather easy steady 6% climb. Unfortunately, this is not a steady gradient of 6% kind of climb: the final 3 kilometres contain multiple ramps of 14% - 18%. So it definitely has a wee sting in the tail!
And now for two contenders for crap photograph of the year. First we have the place name statue: Benidoleig:
Secondly, I can confirm that the restaurant at the Coll de la Garga is closed on a Monday:
