Given the temperature in Zaragoza (1°C and overcast), I decided to head further south to Valencia. On arrival at about 3.30pm the temperature was roughly 14°C. A temperature that is very much more conducive to cycling! It did look as though it had been raining. However, the weather is looking good for the next couple of days.
I can confirm that the drive from Glasgow (via New Malden (S. W. London), Newhaven, (free miles to Dieppe), Noyant-Villages, Bénesse-Maremne and Zaragoza) to Valencia is 1474 miles and cost £220.44 (using an exchange rate of £1 = €1.18, i.e., €1 equals approx. 85 pence); and rounding to the nearest penny gives a fuel cost of: 15 pence per mile! Please note, the foregoing summary does take into account some minor routing errors on my behalf!
I stopped south south-west of Valencia to refuel and, here is a photo of some wrecked cars, which I assume were damaged by the recent biblical rainstorm.
