Day 40: Cartagena (Cyclo)
Another night in Cartagena!

Well, some good cycling was had today, until it wasn't!

The main event of the day was my visit to Los Castillitos (The Little Castles). I didn't know anything about the place, just that it's located at a dead end, and I wanted to see what was at the end of the road!
What I found was something very unexpected and most interesting. Here are a couple of photos:

And, as an added bonus, the road to the site was mostly freshly tarmacked. I was expected it to be "en mal estado".
Unfortunately, due to wind, I had to leave sooner than I would have liked. It wasn't because I had wind! It was windy! I would definitely return to spend more time there exploring.
When I set off this morning there was some wind about. As the morning transitioned into afternoon the wind speed picked up. Indeed, it picked up to such an extent that on a couple of occasions I was close to being blown over by crosswinds! (I did see some cyclists dismount and start walking!)
In the end, the cycling adventure was cut short and I went for some ice cream instead; yes the ice cream parlour was sheltered from the wind! And the gelato was good.

- Distance driven: 0
- Distance cycled: 66 kilometres
- Weather: Mostly sunshine. T's nudging 22°C. Did I mention the wind? According to Meteoblue (weather app) the wind gusts were up to 97 km/h! (about 60 mph).
