Day 41: Llíber (Ciclismo)

I'm knackered! Rest day tomorrow! I enjoyed the cycling, but I found myself flagging on the last two climbs of the day (Port de Sa Creueta from Castell de Castells and then on the Coll de Rates from the south).

According to my Garmin (navigational aid) there were nine climbs on today's ride, only five of which were named. Other than those already mentioned the named climbs were: Vall d'Ebo, Cova del Rull and Port de Tollos.

The climb to Vall d'Ebo, one of my favourites in Costa Blanca was, as expected, a pleasure. A photo from whence I came:

Once again I descended to La Vall d'Ebo for only the second time this year from the Coll:

More climbing (Cova del Rull: 5 kilometres with an average gradient of 4.4% and some 8, 9 and 10% ramps). No summit sign but, here's a photo taken on the way to it:

Then, after some descending, it was on to probably the toughest climb of the day: Port de Tollos (4.2 kilometres, average gradient 5.9%). This climb has multiple ramps of 17%!
A photo taken shortly before the summit:

And at the summit:

  • Distance driven: 0
  • Distance cycled: 97 kilometres
  • Weather: Similar to yesterday's
