Yesterday I met Jean-Paul (68). Whereas I was staying at Sargents, he was pressing on to the Summit of Monarch Pass, as it was full moon and he wanted to view it from up there. How much he got to view the moon remains unknown. However, as I retired to my tent, the wind picked up and as it's velocity increased the rain came pouring down. God only knows, well, I suppose Jean-Paul also knows, what the conditions were like at the pass (assuming he got that far)!
