Day 52: Tabernas Desert (Drive)

Warning: trivial first World problem mentioned in this post ....

I had to move on because I could no longer eat inferior bread. My microbiome was none too happy and I wasn't enjoying the eating of industrial bread. Unfortunately, both of the previous two loaves of bread were just not good enough and, I knew that there was an excellent Obrador (artisanal, often sourdough-based, loaves produced in traditional workshops) in Almería.

I am happy to say that I now have some very good bread for my breakfast of marmalade (or marmite, or tapanade) on toast, accompanied by some fine coffee. The breakfast of champions (.... is a mighty fine book written by Kurt Vonnegut) just about sums it up!

Eventually, breakfast was eaten at about midday!

The afternoon was spent:

  • Giving myself a haircut and beard trim
  • Planning some cycle routes for the coming days
  • Writing this post

I'm currently parked up in the Tabernas Desert, the only desert in Europe.

Even this restaurant was deserted!
