Day 63: Ugíjar (Drive/Cycle)

Today it was a journey into the Alpujarras mountains, famous for its Pueblos Blancos and Serrano Ham, and is an arsa popular with tourists.

When I left ...

... it was about 12.5°C and overcast.

The main climb of the day started almost immediately and ended approximately 25 kilometres later, with about 1000 metres of ascent. As I climbed it got colder and when I arrived in the clouds it was about 8.5°C!

On the descent (in an attempt to stay warm I wore five layers: long sleeve baselayer, short sleeve cycling jersey, gilet, windproof jacket and rain jacket) I passed by:

The descent ended at the Presa de (Dam of) Benínar of the Embalse (Reservoir) de Benínar:

With approximately three kilometres left of the ride, my feet had finally warmed up following the completion of the descent to the Presa!
