Day 96: Béjar (Cycle)

I had planned to cycle up to Alto del Travieso (Altitude 1,854 metres) today. However, checking the weather forecast, I discovered that the predicted "feels like" temperature was predicted to be -3°C. So, I opted for a lower altitude ride with a maximum elevation of about 920 metres, and temperatures well above freezing!

The alternate route was based around some more of Michelin's "scenic roads", and I'd have to say it was a pretty good route. I was particularly impressed with the descent from San Miguel de Valero down through Valero.

Indeed, so impressed was I, I may well have to do the climb in the coming days.

With about two-thirds of the route complete, I stopped for a snack here:

And later, with only one more climb to go, this caught my eye:

  • Distance driven: 0 miles
  • Distance cycled: 96 kilometres
  • Weather:-
    • General conditions: Some high cloud early on, then sunshine
    • Temperature: About 10°C at 10 o'clock, and up to 22°C in the afternoon sunshine.
    • Wind (Beaufort): Ranged from calm to strong breeze.

Today's route:
