Day 124: Azay-sur-Cher (Drive)
Last night I was mosquitoed! Don't know when the mosquitoes on boarded, but I suspect it was either when I stopped at an aire for a break in the driving or, when I paid a visited to the patisserie in Bénesse-Maremne.
There were at least two mosquitoes: the kind that cause large swellings where they have feasted upon me! I know there were at least two, because I euthanised two! And, the result of their feeding on me is three large swellings. Hopefully there are none in hiding, waiting to attack me tonight. Just in case, I think I'll deploy the mosquito net tonight.
The funny thing is I never thought or considered the potential of being mosquitoed last night. Indeed, it has been quite some time since I last encountered mosquitoes, so why would I? Out of sight, out of mind! But not any more!
Early rise this morning. After breakfast and a visit to the patisserie to pick up the pain complet that I ordered last night, I hit the road at about 9:00 (it was raining!); stopped for a twenty minute break; and arrived at the aire in Azay-sur-Cher just before 16:00 (it was not raining!). I didn't want to arrive too late, just in case all the parking places were taken (officially there are only four). Especially, as tomorrow's bike ride starts from here!

The aire is adjacent to the Le Cher river.
