Day 113: Leulinghen-Bernes (Drive)
Well it was a chilly night in Maire. In fact it was so unexpectedly cold
At last night's map meeting we decided that in order to take full advantage of yesterday's mileage gains we would press on to Burney Falls: The following day's destination. So instead of stopping at Mt Shasta we added 30 or so miles to give a total distance of 128 miles and 2,341m of climbing. Yes it was a tough, hot day in the saddle.
I did not arrive in camp until just after 8pm with a flat rear tyre. Fortunately Sinclair had a beer and coke waiting for me, as he had time trialed it to the campground. Well done to Sinclair for getting to camp before the shop shut!
Oh yes, and we passed into California (The Gold State).
