Day 174: New London
For the past few weeks I have been following the East Coast Greenway (ECG). Most of the route through Rhode Island is on excellent dedicated cycle paths with much shade.
As I rolled into Connecticut I left the ECG at Sterling for New London. I used Strava's Cycle Heat Map to find what I hoped would be a good route to New London and, although not perfect, some of the best cycling through woodlands was had. In particular the "Hell Hollow Road" turned out to be most enjoyable. Recommended.
Fortunately many of today's roads were shaded, which was much appreciated as the temperature in the shade was touching 90°F.
