Day 113: Leulinghen-Bernes (Drive)
Well it was a chilly night in Maire. In fact it was so unexpectedly cold
Louisiana is flat, which means that the average speeds have increased. Although it is flat Louisiana does have a mountain: Driskill Mountain at a height of 163 (535)!
On arrival at Oberlin Inn (1/4 star establishment) a puppy was wondering around the area setup for dinner. By the end of the evening Cindy had effectively adopted it, contacted the local animal rescue centre and plans to have it shipped to Virginia for her return.
So I've passed the 2,000 mile mark. So assuming an average speed of 15 miles an hour for the rest of the southern tour, and assuming a cadence of 90 (i.e. 90 pedal revolutions a minute), that means there are only about 432,000 revolutions to go to St Augustine.
And if we were to assume 12 mph at a cadance of 90 then thats only about 3.6 million more revolutions to San Diego!
