Day 117: Cangas de Onís (Cycle)

Today I rode up to the Lagos de Covadonga (elevation 1126 metres) for the second time. It wasn't any easier this time! And, I think I encountered more traffic.

Here's a few photos:

The first is of the Santa Cueva de Covadonga ("Holy Cave of Covadonga"):

The second is of the Basília Santa María la Real de Covadonga:

And now for some views:

The descent is good, but would be better without all of the vehicular traffic!

On return to the van it was time for:

  • Food
  • A catnap
  • Coffee and biscuits
  • Bicycle maintenance
  • Evening meal
  • An evening walk
  • Obviously I stopped at the ice cream shop
  • Walked back to the van eating ice cream
  • Now writing blog post!

A good day!
