Day 118: Arenas de Cabrales (Drive/Cycle/Drive)
Rain in the morning. Cycling in the afternoon. Followed by refuelling the human and a drive to the start of tomorrow's ride.
Not a long ride, but an enjoyable ride. Given the weather, and the weather forecast I created three route variants. The preferred route, a mid-length route and a short route.
Immediately before departure, based on the current time and weather, and the weather forecast, I opted to play it safe-ish and go for the mid-length route.
Here's a couple of photographs taken during the climb:
Actually, looking down a big dip in the climb!

Looking back from whence I came!

When I arrived at the summit of the day's main climb the cloud cover had descended creating a fog with a viewing distance of about 50 metres.

No sign of the puerto sign, but there was a post for a sign that, perhaps, once held a puerto sign!
Maybe there is someone out there that believes their desire to posses the "Alto del Torno" sign trumps that of everyone else who would like to posses photographic evidence of their cycling achievement!
Just for completeness, the act of cycling upto Alto del Torno, "bagged" the passes of: Collado de Igena, and Collado de Igena!
Anyway, giving the "closing in" weather conditions, I chose to invoke Plan B, which was to revert to the short route.
Not a long ride, but it was an enjoyable ride.
